I know Dad is tickled to be able to tell the boys at the coffee shop that he got his grand slam of turkeys. You folks certainly run a first class operation and take a keen interest in pleasing your customers. If you ever need to use me as a reference I would be more than glad to do so. Recently I traveled to Saskatchewan, Canada for a waterfowl (goose and duck) hunt as a client of High Prairie Outfitters from September 10 thru the 17th. What a special trip this turned out to be.
From the time I arrived to the last day of the hunt everyone associated with Dave Ciani was great. They prepared for each days hunt by scouting out all the best locations for duck and/or goose and always acted in a professional manner. They respected the land of the owner, the birds we harvested, and the safety of all the hunters and dogs. The dogs WOW. I have never seen retrievers behave so well and work so hard, what an experience to observe.
The accommodations were excellent. All the hunters had their own house to stay in with 2 baths, 3 bedrooms, and a full kitchen. The good news is that we never had to use the kitchen. The food that Teri Ciani prepared was 5 star. We had a breakfast bread to take to the field, a huge sit down dinner (3 pm) after the morning hunt, and then she finished us off with hot soup and great desserts before bed, awesome!! I just can’t say enough about the overall experience other than I highly recommend High Prairie and I look forward to hunting with them again.

Just a quick note to thank both of you for a wonderful experience. I don’t know which part of this year’s trip was the “most funnest”; the shoots or the new friends I met. This was only my second waterfowling trip, and it won’t be my last.
Dave and the crew of escellent spotters; Wes, Kelly7, Don and Brent; worked hard to find the geese. Their dedication to providing us the best possible experience was evident. Spotting with them in the afternoons, for the next day’s hunts, was at times, almost as fun as some of the shoots we had. The beautiful Saskatchewan countryside and the abundant wildlife are something that words can’t do justice to.
The lakeside cabins we stayed in were first class, comfortable & roomy. The meals were fantastic. Way better than the typically imagined fare at a hunting camp. Combined with Teri’s cooking, the after dinner conversations were the perfect ends to our fun filled days. It would be hard to match the quality of the entire package, assembling all the parts on you own.
The quality of hunts, the area, the people I met, and the antics of the dogs, esp. “Maniac”; are all reasons why I plan to return next season. The pictures, video and stories have sparked interest among some of my friends. Hopefully next season they’ll come up to Canada and be able to experience first hand a high quality hunting adventure with High Prairie Outfitters.
I guess you could say I’m hooked. I blame it all on High Prairie Outfitters, and I thank you for it.

It was a pleasure to meet you this past week our hunting trip. I enjoyed the hunting, but the food was stupendous! Thanks for the salmon recipe. I am going to send you a couple of recipes by mail later this week. If you think they are worthy, I would like to get your recipe for the soup that you served on Wednesday. I apologize for the tardiness of this thank you. I can’t thank you both enough for the time you showed us in S. Dakota. I am absolutely hooked! Friday, Carlson and I went out w/another group. We did well. I actually got 2 birds. I brought a bunch home and am sending some to Jim. It was a real pleasure to hunt, watch & learn from you guys & your dogs.

It looks like the snow finally got to South Dakota, we just missed it. I do hope you and Amy had a good hunt and I’m sure you did. Thanks again for taking such good care of us and for showing us a good time. As we got to the airport in Salt Lake it was fun to listen to everybody (boys and dads) telling their different stories to the family members waiting to pick us up. It was truly a memorable experience for us and if you’ll have us we would like to come back and hunt with you again.
