Dave purchased a Saskatchewan Outfitters license from Ducks Unlimited’s Canadian wildlife artist of the year Dan Dunn and is one of the few American outfitters licensed to outfit in Saskatchewan, Canada. Since then Dave has brought on two very important partners in John Woodson and Wes Lundell. These three all share the love and passion for the outdoors, which is very evident when you spend time with them in the field. They all compliment each other’s strengths and respect what the other can bring to the team which makes for a win win situation for everybody. A respect for the outdoors and the game they hunt is of the utmost importance to each of these guides. H.P.O.’s motto is- We Go Where The Game Is and be assured that They Will Put You Into The Game!

Dave Ciani-
Outfitter and founder of H.P.O. Dave Ciani is the secretary of the South Dakota Outfitters Association. He is also a contributing member of; Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Wild Turkey Federation, Saskatchewan Outfitters Association, along with many other wildlife organizations. Together with his vast hunting knowledge, and background in the outdoors, this has helped make him a highly qualified South Dakota Pheasant Hunting and Nebraska Pheasant Hunting Guide. Dave also holds a degree in Natural Resources. In addition, he has worked for the Department of Environmental Conservation in the Fish, Wild Life & Parks field, and law enforcement. Dave has been happily married for 28 years and has three wonderful daughters.
Being an excellent teacher and coach aided Dave in winning the President's Award for a Fortune 500 Company. Knowledge of people and their desire to accomplish personal goals has also made Dave a successful and personable guide. Yet, it is your satisfaction and enjoyment that he claims as his reward. |  |
John Woodson-
John has been an avid bird hunter for over 40 years and his patience and attention to detail compliment the team very well. John grew up on a farm as his father was a world class horse trainer, at times raising and training up to 200 horses. John is involved in the day to day activities at High Prairie Outfitters. John makes sure that all of the details of your hunt are taken care of including; lodging, meals and property management. John is also very active in advertising for H.P.O. and attends many trade shows throughout the year as well. John's numerous innovative inventions have also helped keep H.P.O. at the leading edge of technology.

Wes Lundell-
Wes is our Canadian connection. He was born and raised in St. Wahlburg, Saskatchewan Canada. Wes has a farming background and has also worked in the oil industry. Wes enjoys gun dog training and has a passion for finding game. His outdoor savvy gives every hunter the confidence that their experience with H.P.O. will be a safe, fun and ethical experience. Wes has numerous contacts throughout the province which enables H.P.O. the ability to continually secure pristine and prime upland bird hunting areas. This also ensures that you will always enjoy the World Class Upland Bird Hunting and Waterfowl Hunting experience that High Prairie Outfitters is noted for.
